I’m a visual artist, writer, and administrator. I draw overlooked and uncharacteristic life forms using analogue drafting tools and collage.
Riveted by the complex anatomical structures of marine invertebrates, prehistoric animals and microscopic organisms, my drawings are reverse dissections--drawing until I figure a specimen out. I count fashion magazines, the modern laboratory, and engineering handiwork as cultural achievements worth exploring. A few labs I’ve collaborated with include the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary, University of Texas Medical Branch Pathology department, Illinois Natural History Survey Herbarium and Emporia State University Geology Museum.
I also write poems, prose and essays about the Anthropocene and orienting the world as a Queer, lifelong cyclist and pedestrian. My writing has appeared in places such as AGNI, matchbook, and Sand Journal.
I am a founding member and proud alumna of Throughline, an artist-run space and collective group of artists in Houston, Texas.
